The Nottingham player looks confident ahead of the Cameroon match in which he is expected to make his World Cup debut.

The Swiss midfield with captain Granit Xhaka, Djibril Sow and Remo Freuler is impressive. “We harmonized very well in the last few games,” says Freuler. “In terms of running, our midfield is one of the best and technically very good.” You don’t have to be afraid of anyone.

Second World Cup, first game?

Freuler, who joined Nottingham Forest this season after six and a half years in Bergamo, is expected to play his first game in a World Cup final against Cameroon on Thursday, at the age of 30. «Before you stopped at 30, today you play your first World Cup game. That’s very nice,” laughs the Zurich Oberlander. Freuler was in the squad at the 2018 World Cup but was not used.

An appearance against Cameroon would also be Freuler’s 50th cap. He has scored 5 goals in his 49 appearances since his debut in 2017, most recently against the Czech Republic in the Nations League a few weeks ago.
