Does he now equal Federer’s record?
For the eighth time – Djokovic is in the final of the ATP Finals
Novak Djokovic is in the final of the ATP Finals in Turin for the eighth time in his career. The Serb defeated American Taylor Fritz 7:6 (7:5), 7:6 (8:6) in the round of four. In the final he now meets Casper Ruud.
Let the fans celebrate: Novak Djokovic is in the Turin final.
Victory in two sets very worked!
After the efforts of the previous day, where Djokovic fainted during the game, he has to bite hard against the American Taylor Fritz in the semifinals.
Fritz seems to be in the lead in the second set. The American can serve to equalize the set. Fortunately for the Serb, his nerves fail him: with an inexplicable mistake, he invites Djokovic to break. It doesn’t take twice for the former world No. 1 to equalize and win the game on tie-break.
Final Opponent Ruud
The first set was already very competitive. But here, too, Djokovic claimed the best ending for himself because he’s there at the crucial moments.
In the second semi-final on Saturday, Norwegian Casper Ruud makes quick work of it. He beat Russian Andrei Rublev in straight sets 6:2, 6:4. He will face Djokovic in the final on Sunday. The Serb has a chance to win the tour’s top eight season-ending tournament for the sixth time, and first time since 2015. With a win, he would tie with record holder Roger Federer. (SDA)
